During fall 2009, members of Kol Tzedek’s Simcha Band took lessons with trumpeter Susan Watts to learn how to play the sher from one of Philly’s finest klezmer musicians.

Once Sherri and Meredith had taken several lessons with Susan, it was time to introduce the sher to the rest of the Simcha Band in preparation for our December 13 Chanukah party performance.

Our first performance of the sher was at the Chanukah party.  We also played the sher at Purim and are planning to play it and teach about it at Shavuot.
